DESCRIPTION: usually stemless, solitary, sometimes forming small groups. Leaves up 50x15 cm, semi-glossy dark green, sometimes with +- white spots, reddish brown teeth 3-4 mm long, 10-15 mm apart. Inflorescence 70-90 cm tall, up to 7 branches, racemes +/- subcapitate to conical, 10-20 cm long, flowers wine red OR bright yellow.
DISTRIBUTION: Ethiopia , S of Dire Dawa.
CULTIVATION: easy to grow, similar to A. monticola.
