Aloe melanacantha   Berger (1905)

DESCRIPTION: with procumbent stem to 50 cm long, leaves 20x4 cm with the tip a black spine, dull green, inf. 100 cm, racemes cylindrical, flowers red. Varieta erinacea grows in Namibia only.
DISTRIBUTION: RSA, Namibia
CULTIVATION: easy to grow, flowering in high age (after 15+ years).
